Yacha Genfi is an Adult Health Primary Care Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Neurology Division of Neuro-Oncology at New York-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She received her BSN from Holy Family University in Philadelphia. Yacha began her nursing career as an RN in the Medical-Surgical and Telemetry unit in the Northwell Health system where she closely monitored and managed a high volume of patients including those suffering from multiple sclerosis, transient ischemic attacks, strokes, and seizures. During this time, she completed her MSN from Rutgers University in New Jersey and obtained board certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She later went on to work at New York University within the department of Psychiatry where she assessed patients with traumatic brain injuries and then went on to be employed by Columbia University’s Clinical Protocol and Data Management department where she managed patients enrolled in neuro-oncology clinical trials. Yacha’s previous experience provided her with a strong foundation to transition to her current role as a Neuro-Oncology Nurse Practitioner. In close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of neuro-oncology providers, Yacha provides comprehensive care to brain and spinal tumor patients.
