Ruben Aymerich, MD, board certified in gastroenterology, has been in practice in the St. Louis area for the past 10 years. As an advocate for colon cancer awareness, Dr. Aymerich emphasizes the importance of early detection and living a healthy lifestyle. "Through appropriate screenings, colon cancer can be prevented," explains Dr. Aymerich. As a cycling enthusiast and triathlete, he emphasizes the importance of staying active. "I tell my patients to live a healthy lifestyle, listen to your body, and ask your doctor if you need help." Dr. Aymerich specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, such as reflux, celiac disease, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. He is well trained to perform a variety of tests, including Infrared Coagulation – for treatment of hemorrhoids, upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCPs. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship training and residency training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.
