Dr. Karimianpour joins the section of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Piedmont Heart Institute from South Carolina. He grew up in Virginia where he later obtained his medical degree. He then completed his residency training at Cleveland Clinic, followed by fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he served as Chief Fellow in both training programs. His clinical interests include catheter ablation of complex arrhythmias as well as cardiac device implantation and management. Dr. Karimianpour has authored several peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and has presented his award-winning work at multiple national professional society gatherings. Dr. Karimianpour subspecializes in heart rhythm disorders and minimally invasive surgical procedures to treat abnormal heart rhythms. Conditions treated include atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, atrial tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, premature ventricular contractions, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, inherited arrhythmias, bradycardia, heart block, catheter ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, implantation of transvenous pacemakers, leadless pacemakers, implantation of transvenous cardiac defibrillators, subcutaneous defibrillators, transvenous laser and mechanical lead extraction. Dr. Karimianpour has a special interest in treatment of ventricular tachycardia and sudden cardiac death. Dr. Karimianpour joins Piedmont Heart Institute with a passion and vision to provide high-quality, efficient, and modern health care to the citizens of Georgia and beyond. In his spare time, Dr. Karimianpour enjoys traveling abroad and exploring new countries, cultures and foods. Dr. Karimianpour is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.
