Dr. Laungani is a board-certified urologist who specializes in adult urology and urologic oncology. He is fellowship-trained in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and robotic urology. A Brooklyn native, he graduated cum laude from Brooklyn College and received his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his surgical internship and urology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he later earned a fellowship in minimally invasive and robotic surgery from the Vattikuti Urology Institute at Henry Ford Hospital under the guidance of Dr. Mani Menon. Dr. Laungani has numerous peer-reviewed publications on urological advances and robotics and has lectured and operated internationally, including Egypt, Malaysia and the Czech Republic. Dr. Laungani holds memberships in several professional organizations including the Endourological Society, the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, the Georgia, Michigan and New York State Urologic Society, the Society of Robotic Surgery and the American Medical Association. Dr. Laungani maintains a strong interest in prostate cancer research and education though multiple studies and collaborations with Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University. He serves as associate professor (adjunct) at Clark Atlanta University's Center for Cancer Research and Therapeutic Development. He has received numerous professional honors and recognition for his outstanding work and has also been featured on CNN's Medical News and local medical news for "tweeting" Live Robotic Surgery in the OR.
