“Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food” – HippocratesRachel Stahl Salzman has been with New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine for over 10 years since she began her dietetic internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP), and following the internship, a Nutrition Fellowship in Digestive Diseases and Culinary Nutrition. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and Master’s of Science Degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University.Rachel’s clinical focus is on using individualized nutrition therapy strategies and behavior modification, diabetes technology, and digital healthcare to achieve better health outcomes. She places an emphasis on person-centered team-based care to help individuals develop and sustain positive behavior change.Rachel has been invited as a speaker at multiple regional and national conferences including the American Diabetes Association’s Scientific Sessions and the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists Annual Conference. She has also been quoted in publications such as U.S. News and World Report and published in professional journals on topics related to nutrition and diabetes.An active member in the nutrition and diabetes professional communities, she has served in numerous leadership positions. She is currently the Technology Chair of the Diabetes Dietetic Practice Group and President-Elect of the Metropolitan New York Chapter of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES). Rachel is a proud recipient of the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year through the New York State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and 2022 Rising Star Award from ADCES.
