Matthew Treiser, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Miami Cancer Institute, a part of Baptist Health South Florida. He specializes in plastic, reconstructive, hand and microsurgery. He offers a variety of services for patients, including oncologic reconstruction, and treatment for hand fractures and conditions, as well as peripheral nerve conditions and injuries. An expert in reconstructive surgery, Dr. Treiser has participated in multiple hand transplant surgeries and was a member of the first penile transplant surgery performed in the United States. Dr. Treiser joined Miami Cancer Institute from the Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. While there, he served as an assistant professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as hand and microsurgery. Dr. Treiser’s research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications, such as the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, The Journal of Hand Surgery, The Journal of Wrist Surgery, Annals of Surgery and Annals of Plastic Surgery. He holds a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering. Dr. Treiser focuses on providing leading-edge technological procedures that treat each patient individually. He believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to care. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Treiser enjoys snowboarding, golfing, running and traveling.
