Louis works clinically in NY Presbyterian's Emergency Department as an Attending Physician. Responsibilities include clinical education of residents, NPs, PAs and medical students. Professional interests include medical administration, medical education, disaster and emergency preparedness, international, wilderness and travel medicine and business opportunities in medicine.   Prior to working  at NY Presbyterian Hospital, he worked as an attending at NY-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Emergency Department (2013-2015) and at Long Island College Hospital (LICH) Emergency Department (2011-2013).   At LICH served as Assistant Medical Director of the Emergency Department. Physician and Resident Scheduler, Director of Resident Education and Site Director for SUNY Downstate Emergency Medicine Residency Program.   Emergency Medicine Residency at NYU/Bellevue (2007-2011).   Attended ACEP’s Director’s Academy. Elected ACEP fellow.   Experience running a public securities hedge fund, Anvil Capital Partners, pursuing private equity advisory and investment opportunities and providing merger and acquisition advice.   Former investment banking professional at Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank with experience on the origination, execution and principal sides of the business. Practiced at building and managing new business units. Industry generalist with particular expertise in the basic materials, metals & mining, consumer cyclicals, electric utility and telecommunications industries and the financial buyer community. Substantial execution experience involving a broad range of merger, acquisition, corporate finance and restructuring products, having closed over forty transactions worth billions of dollars.   Former submarine officer, U.S. Navy, aboard USS Seawolf (SSN 575) a specially configured, nuclear powered, fast-attack submarine engaged in Special Projects (covert operations) in the Western Pacific.   Portrait, figurative and still-life painter in oils and encaustic.
