Dr. Cipriano is a specialist in Sports Medicine as well as Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He completed his Residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Medstar-Georgetown National Rehabilitation Hospital Program where he served as Chief Resident. He then went on to sub-specialize in Sports Medicine at Emory University as a team physician for local high schools, the Division I Georgia Tech and Division III Emory University athletic programs, as well as the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Dream. He attended the 2023 NFL Combine as a representative Team Physician for the Atlanta Falcons.Dr. Cipriano is Board Certified in Physiatry and Sports Medicine. His clinical focus includes athletes and active people of all levels with acute musculoskeletal injuries, as well as chronic degenerative processes of the musculoskeletal system such as osteoarthritis. He focuses on conservative treatment and finding root causes of injuries. These include minimally invasive, non-surgical evaluations and procedures such as biomechanical evaluations and bracing, specific activity/sport related rehabilitation plans, Same-day Diagnostic Ultrasound Evaluations and Ultrasound Guided injections of all Peripheral Joints, Nerve Hydro-dissections, Needle Tenotomy and Barbotage, Platelet Rich Plasma Injections, and Shockwave Therapy (ESWT).Dr. Cipriano has served on national committees in his field and has given multiple presentations at national conferences. He has published multiple research projects while working at the National Institute of Health (NIH) during residency and continued these projects while training at Emory including point of care evaluation of MSK injuries and return to activity treatments. Dr. Cipriano is a native New Yorker and is excited to return home and serve his community.
