Edward Koomson, MD, electrophysiology, likes to focus his practice on prevention and patient education, ensuring each patient participates in shared decision making and can work alongside the care team to find the best treatment plan to fit his or her life. His practice provides diagnosis and treatment for a number of cardiac conditions, including but not limited to atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, premature ventricular complexes and more. His practice provides surgical and nonsurgical solutions, including implantation and management of pacemakers, automatic implantable cardioverter-defibrillators and the WATCHMAN device. Board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology, Dr. Koomson earned an undergraduate degree from the University of California-Davis before graduating from medical school at Howard University. He completed residency in internal medicine at Wake Forest University. He was then selected for two prestigious fellowships at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center; the first was in cardiovascular disease and the second in clinical electrophysiology. When not caring for patients, Dr. Koomson enjoys getting in a round of golf.
