Dustin J. Carpenter is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University, and an Attending Transplant Surgeon at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is a board-certified surgeon who specializes in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation, living donor liver and kidney transplant, laparoscopic donor nephrectomy, and general surgery. Dr. Carpenter has an extensive research background, and has numerous publications in journals such as Nature, Cell, Science Immunology, and the American Journal of Transplantation.Dr. Carpenter completed his fellowship training in Multi-Organ Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University and Weill Cornell Medical Centers. He also did his general surgery residency training at Columbia University, and spent two years as a post-doctoral research fellow in immunology at the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology. Dr. Carpenter received his M.D. from Saint Louis University School of Medicine with distinction in research, and also a masters degree in epidemiology from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Carpenter graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
