Located at the Children’s Specialty Center, this dedicated space for children offers a caring, kid-friendly environment where our specialty-trained team treats children who are receiving cancer care. We also treat children with blood disorders including: -Anemia and sickle cell disease -Immunodeficiency disorders like HIV/AIDS -Iron disorders like hemochromatosis -Juvenile arthritis -Crohn’s disease and inflammatory bowel syndrome (IBS) We treat cancers and other blood conditions by offering infusions of: -Biologic medications -Chemotherapy drugs -Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) -Iron or drugs that remove excess iron -Immunoglobulins (antibodies that support the immune system) -Immunosuppressants -Systemic steroids The Children’s Cancer and Multipurpose Infusion Center is designed for kids, teens and young adults to receive infusion therapy comfortably. It features: -Four infusion bays, each with a gaming system-equipped TV to help pass the time and ease treatment anxiety -A central play area for kids -Two negative pressure/isolation infusion rooms for children who have a weakened immune system or can’t be exposed to an open infusion bay environment -Four exam rooms -A room where procedures like lumbar punctures can be performed for the patient’s and parents’ convenience -A dedicated family resource room offering storage lockers, educational materials and computers -A teen game room with an infusion chair and a gaming system geared toward teens or young adults -A painted column and lighting installation – Tree of Life – created by the nonprofit organization Splashes of Hope   A service of Lehigh Valley Hospital. ,
