Dr. Pirmohamed is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Presbyterian Hospital. As a specialist in Non-Invasive Cardiology and Vascular Medicine he interprets and performs stress tests, echocardiograms, vascular ultrasounds and consults on the wards of New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital. Dr. Pirmohamed was born in Silver Spring, Maryland and moved to Washington D.C. for his early education. He attended Georgetown University, earning his undergraduate degree in Economics and Spanish before staying to complete his medical degree. He moved to New York City for his Internal Medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. He then completed his training in Cardiovascular Diseases and Echocardiography at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill-Cornell Medical College. Dr. Pirmohamed joined the full time faculty at Weill-Cornell upon completion of his training.Dr. Pirmohamed’s main clinical interests include working with medical trainees and providing advanced education to international clinicians in non-invasive cardiovascular interventions. He is involved in international outreach to provide health care to underserved communities. His research focuses on dissemination and quality improvement methodologies to investigate and improve barriers to health care delivery in these communities. He is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, the Society for Vascular Medicine and the American College of Cardiology.Dr. Pirmohamed is fluent in Spanish.
